When he was not spending time shutting down any rumors about potential interest in leaving Kentucky for the New York Knicks, John Calipari was getting quite the experience in Egypt with sightseeing and camel races while spending time with Team USA at the FIBA World Cup.
Calipari woke up Friday morning to rumors he was reaching out to the New York Knicks about a potential return to the NBA, this time as team president. He was quick to shut that one down, and he reiterated the point before going out for some touristy stuff.
Wow, incredible experience at the pyramids with the @usabasketball team!! pic.twitter.com/J7edIcQAau

Calipari’s Egypt trip almost didn’t happen as security concerns in the nation were on the rise recently. With increased security on hand, the Team USA trip went on as planned, which means Calipari and a couple of his future Kentucky players (P.J. Washington and Kevin Knox) get to see pyramids and compete in some camel races. Calipari claims he won a camel race.

Sadly, there has been no video made available of Calipari riding a camel. If one should happen to surface, we would greatly appreciate the opportunity to watch it!
