The recent storms known as Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma took a toll on things much more important than college football, but the problems posed to the college football schedule threw a number of universities and football programs into a complete scramble mode to make schedule adjustments where needed. Before Hurricane Irma reached the coastlines of the state of Florida, the FAU Owls were already settled in up north preparing for a road game against Wisconsin.
But this was no ordinary road trip. FAU saw Irma’s trajectory and made arrangements to stay north until it was safe to return home to Boca Raton. Fortunately for Lane Kiffin and the Owls, they had the most hospitable hosts in Madison with the Wisconsin Badgers more than accommodating to the program in need. To show his gratitude, Kiffin took out a full-page advertisement in the Wisconsin State Journal after his program returned to Florida.

Wisconsin helped provide lodging for the Owls and opened the doors to the Badgers’ football facilities so FAU could continue to get their workouts and practices in as much as possible.
Wisconsin replied with a quick message to confirm they were more than willing to lend the helping hands they extended.
Happy to host during Hurricane IrmaGood luck to Lane Kiffin and FAU Football the rest of the way this season

Kiffin is often a reliable punching bag of sorts for college football fans and the media, but a gesture like this deserves nothing but praise.
