For those who have watched the Netflix hit documentary series Last Chance U the name Ronald Ollie is very familiar. He is perhaps the biggest star not named Brittany Wagner.

Ollie is also a player who has moved on to life after “Scubba Tech”, a.k.a. Eastern Mississippi Community College, having earned a scholarship offer from FCS school Nicholls State.

While at EMCC, Ollie was known to be a beast on the field goal blocking unit. Now he’s proven those skills translate to the FCS level; on Saturday, he was on the spot during another blocked field goal, scooping and rumbling 84 yards for a TD for his Nicholls State Colonels.

Not only was it impressive to see a 310-pound individual make it 84 yards down the field for a touchdown, but it was a huge moment for his team. Instead of going down by six points, Nicholls State found itself up by four points thanks to that touchdown. And as they ended up winning 33-30 in overtime, every point proved crucial.

Ollie is also having himself an impactful season on defense: he has 25 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, and 1 pass break up.

We loved Last Chance U, and with a second season on the way, it’s great to see one of the stars of the first season succeed.
