Thanksgiving time puns usually revolve around turkey, but Ohio State football went in a different direction for its punny Thanksgiving Day promotion of Saturday’s Ohio State-Michigan matchup: Michael Jordan and shoes.

Michael Jordan is famous for shoes (among other things). Ohio State is famous for Ohio Stadium which is nicknamed “The Shoe” (among other things). Ohio State also has a linebacker named Michael Jordan.

Got it all?

Now that we’ve got that out of the way, we can talk about how Ohio State’s Jordan and teammate Curtis Samuel starring in a remake of the famous 1989 Mars Blackmon Nike commercial with Spike Lee and the Bulls’ Michael Jordan.

We’ll let @CurtisSamuel4__ & @BigMikeJ73 rewind all the way back to 1989 for this one…

This isn’t the first time athletes have spoofed the famous shoe commercial, such as when Blake Griffin, a.k.a. Mars BlakeMan, promoted USC tight end Jordan Cameron prior to the 2011 NFL Draft.

Here’s the original with Spike Lee and Michael Jordan. You’ve got to hand it to Ohio State here over Griffin and Cameron for the better remake.
