During the holiday season, we should all hopefully be inspired by the season of giving and good will towards others. Here is one of those great stories that should put a smile on your face and a tear in your eye:

Courtesy of Reddit Sports: a poster posted a video of his friend’s father, a long time Penn State fan, unboxing a gift that turned out to be a bowl of roses, complete with tickets to the game against USC on January 2nd. Here’s the video below:

One of his bucket list items in sports, according to the poster, was to go to the Rose Bowl. He’s also a massive Penn State fan. So when he unboxed the “Rose Bowl” (great touch), he was surprised with two tickets for he and presumably his wife to go with him.

A poster on the story suggested a GoFundMe for him to fully experience what the Rose Bowl has to offer because as the video makes pretty clear, he seems concerned about the money. If someone finds that GoFundMe page, please link it to us.

This video is a wonderful example of how sports can make people so happy, especially during the holiday season and in a year where it seems not much has gone right. Maybe you, like me, cried a bit when he started crying, because in the end we’re all suckers for a story like this.

What a fantastic story. Enjoy the game.
