Peyton Manning seems to be settling into NFL retirement quite well. He is still quite the popular figure in Knoxville, Tennessee, the home of his alma mater. Many have speculated that Manning is angling for the job coaching the Volunteers, but he quickly kiboshed that when he spoke at the Middle Tennessee Sports Awards in Nashville on Thursday night.
Peyton Manning: "No I will not be coaching QBs at Tennessee, but I'll be the biggest #Vols fan this year" #MTSA2016

He was then asked about whether he’d let his five year old son play football because of concussion concerns, and Manning, diplomatic as ever, gave a typical Peyton Manning answer.
Will Peyton Manning let his 5yo play football? "Football is an intense physical game. It's hard to change that." But, yes, he will #mtsa2016

And as for whether he’ll put a Brett Favre and come out of retirement to play again, don’t get your hopes up.
Will Peyton Manning come out of retirement? "I am out of eligibility. I'm expired." He added "Maybe I will, I can't tell you that" #mtsa2016

Peyton Manning continued: "I didn't get shorted on anything. I got my fill in, so it felt like the right time to stop playing." #mtsa2016

Peyton Manning, though he won’t be marauding on an NFL field for the first time since 1997, will still be pretty busy advertising everything under the sun and being a general spokesman for the NFL and football. He won’t be leaving the public eye that easily.
