Former Baltimore Ravens legend Ray Lewis has two sons who are following in his footsteps. One of them will have a chance to test himself at the highest level of college football competition.

A few years removed from the end of his towering NFL career, Lewis is watching his children pursue their football dreams. One of his sons, Ray Lewis III, already plays for Coastal Carolina in the Football Championship Subdivision. Now, his other son has just announced that he will play for a Football Bowl Subdivision program.

Rayshad Lewis will join an FBS school in Logan, Utah, and the Mountain West Conference. Lewis announced he’s committing to the Utah State Aggies. He’ll try to help coach Matt Wells overtake Boise State and Air Force in the MWC’s Mountain Division.

Lewis, a wide receiver/cornerback out of Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, chose the Aggies over Appalachian State, Ball State, Florida Atlantic and Idaho, among others. At 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds, Rayshad doesn’t have the same intimidating size his dad does. He was ranked as two-star recruit by both Rivals.com and 247sports.com.

The younger Lewis took to social media with his mom and dad to announce his commitment to the Utah State program:

With Lewis now in the fold, Utah State gained its 19th commitment of the 2016 recruiting class.

Lewis isn’t the only son of a former NFL star to announce a commitment to a major college this month. Thaddeus Moss, son of former Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Randy Moss, committed to North Carolina State on January 23.
