Sam Darnold boat pass

It’s only June, but Sam Darnold wants us to know he’s in midseason form. The USC quarterback posted an Instagram video of him delivering a perfect pass from the back of a boat to a moving target — a wake boarder leaping off his board.

Even if they had a bunch of botched attempts before finally nailing this, the final result is still impressive. And maybe USC coach Clay Helton should consider adding the receiver, freshman volleyball player Sean Morrissey, to his roster.

Darnold, a sophomore, is one of the 2017 Heisman favorites, and in case you never caught a USC game last year, now you know why. In 10 starts last season, the Trojans went 9-1 while Darnold racked up 3,086 yards, 31 touchdowns and nine interceptions.

The Trojans have a good chance at starting the 2017 season in the top five, and they’ll need some more passes like this to live up to such high expectations.
