The Texas Longhorns had an upset bid vs No. 1 Duke fall short in an 85-78 overtime loss on Friday, but they got a very impressive performance from Kerwin Roach.

The junior guard finished with 19 points, and dunked all over the Blue Devils. And a dunk Roach threw down in the first half was especially a Dunk of the Year candidate (joining Nuni Omot and Jalek Felton).

Watch Roach posterize the hell out of Duke’s Javin DeLaurier with this vicious jam (for more posterizers, check out :

In the second half, Roach took flight again, but the Duke defense decided to just let him have it this time. Nobody wants to be put on a poster.

And Roach had this dunk that gave the Longhorns the lead in the final two minutes of regulation.

So Roach certainly did his part, and the Texas team overall looks like a very improved group.

The Longhorns will certainly benefit from having a potential top-five pick on their roster in center Mohamed Bamba. He put his tremendous shot-blocking skills on display with this awesome rejection of Duke’s Marvin Bagley (the potential No. 1 pick in next year’s draft).
