The Jim Harbaugh Recruiting Trip Checklist

Few can argue the impact Jim Harbaugh has had on the Michigan football program. It was expected Michigan would go through a bit of a revival as a program after years under Rich Rodriguez and Brady Hoke running down the program, and year one under Harbaugh was no disappointment despite losses to Michigan State and Ohio State. Improvements were clear on the field, and now Harbaugh is busy attacking the recruiting trails like a boss to build a foundation for future success in Ann Arbor.

Harbaugh has taken every step he can to build relationships with recruits, which is essential in recruiting. When it comes to putting himself out there for recruits, it seems few are doing so as well as Harbaugh has been doing with his recruiting efforts. Harbaugh’s devotion to do anything possible to connect with players he wants to come to Michigan have been well documented, but we here at The Comeback just recently uncovered a checklist Harbaugh is working his way through while out making recruiting pitches. Some of the items on the checklist are things we have covered already.

✅ Jim Harbaugh sleeps over at a recruit’s house

One of the first things Harbaugh did once the dead period in recruiting opened was crash the night at the home of the nation’s top-ranked kicker, Quinn Nordin, who is committed to Penn State. That wasn’t the only sleepover Harbaugh planned though. Defensive tackle Jordan Elliott, already committed to Michigan, also said he was expecting Harbaugh to spend the night at some point.

✅ Jim Harbaugh climbs a tree

This week we learned, thanks to social media images and video, that the head coach of the Wolverines was no stranger to climbing trees. While playing catch with four-star cornerback David Long in California, Harbaugh made like Tarzan and worked his way up a tree for reasons still unknown.

✅ Jim Harbaugh watches Netflix with recruit

More recently, Harbaugh was captured enjoying a little Netflix down time in the home of defensive end Connor Murphy…

Nice sweats there, Jimmy.

✅ Jim Harbaugh attends high school classes with recruits

Harbaugh can actually check this item off a couple of times. While visiting De La Salle High School, defensive tackle Boss Tagaloa (remember that name for when you start putting together your all-name teams in the future) and tight end Devin Asiasi, Tagaloa shared a picture of Harbaugh taking a seat in his class.

Here are a few more items on Harbaugh’s to-do list while out recruiting. Photo evidence of him doing any of these would be greatly appreciated…

🔲 Jim Harbaugh rides a hoverboard

🔲 Jim Harbaugh rides a unicycle

🔲 Jim Harbaugh steps in a batting cage

🔲 Jim Harbaugh does a cannonball off the high dive at the local pool

Jim Harbaugh attends a midnight showing of Star Wars

🔲 Jim Harbaugh eats 100 wings in 10 minutes

What else should we anticipate Harbaugh does on his next recruiting trips? Perhaps we should simply expect the unexpected.
