Before college football bowl games, the teams frequently get together at events in the host city. While the teams are usually friendly at these events, it’s inevitable that some trash-talking will break out from time to time.

And some trash-talking indeed happened between Michigan and South Carolina players Wednesday night at a bowling event leading up to the Outback Bowl in Tampa Bay.

Florida Highway Patrol officers had to break up the skirmish, but MLive reports that “no punches were thrown, and no one was arrested.”

If you’re wondering why Michigan’s Jim Harbaugh and South Carolina’s Will Muschamp are nowhere to be seen in the videos, MLive says that the coaches didn’t attend the event.

The Wolverines and Gamecocks will get a chance to back up their trash-talking at the Outback Bowl on New Year’s Day. Michigan is currently favored by 7.5 points.
