Don’t you just hate when the refs inject themselves into a game more than they should? Sometimes they can’t help but get in the way of a play, and sometimes they get knocked over as a result. Not this Big 12 ref.
TCU running back Kyle Hicks was picking up some good yardage on a run against West Virginia, when he ran into an unstoppable force; the ref. Hicks bounced off the ref, who looked to be getting out of the way after being caught in the middle of the field. No dice. Hicks ran into the umpire, but there would be only one man standing at the end of the play.
It wasn’t Hicks.
In case you were wondering, the umpire did not get credit in the box score for the tackle.
