Fair due to Kansas Football. They’re terrible, but at least they’re still trying.

The Jayhawks hosted the Iowa State Cyclones on Saturday in a battle to see who would stay out of the Big 12 basement. Kansas wore their all-blue uniforms and that detail helped them pull off a pretty fun tricker during one of ISU’s kickoffs.

Up 14-10 towards the end of the second quarter, Kansas’s LaQuvionte Gonzalez was one of two people waiting in the endzone for an Iowa State kick. Not everyone was aware of that, however, because Gonzalez, in his all-blue uniform, laid down on the all-blue endzone grass, and disappeared from sight. He only reappeared once Steven Sims, Jr. lateraled the ball across the field in his direction.

Alas, Gonzalez was only able to make it to the 34-yard-line, but you could make a case that Sims wouldn’t have made it that far on his side. Either way, the play probably made ISU think twice before overcommitting on kickoffs in the future.

Sadly for Kansas, they still lost the game and now occupy the bottom of the Big 12 by themselves, but at least they had some fun getting there.
