Given how San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has become a focal point of national debate over the past month, it was only fitting somebody would ask if he took time Monday night to watch the first of three presidential debates between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton. He did, and his reaction may be far less polarizing to some than his decision to protest during the national anthem.

“I watched a little bit of it. To me, it was embarrassing to watch as these are our two candidates,” Kaepernick said. “Both are proven liars and it almost seems like they’re trying to debate who’s less racist. At this point, you have to pick the lesser of two evils, but at the end it’s still evil.”

Kaepernick certainly is not alone in that sentiment about choosing between Trump and Clinton. Sure, he could cast his vote for a third party candidate if he chooses, but Kang and Kodos have warned us all that is merely a waste of your vote.
