Green Bay Packers wide receiver Davante Adams left Sunday’s 31-24 loss to the Carolina Panthers with a concussion after taking an illegal, cheap hit on a “block” from Carolina’s Thomas Davis.
Davis clearly realized he made a dirty hit, and we’ll assume that’s what he was talking to Aaron Rodgers about after this Packers turnover that basically closed the game out in the fourth quarter.
But Davis feeling bad about and realizing he screwed up doesn’t change that it’s a completely indefensible hit, and one that needs to result in a suspension from the NFL.
While the Davis hit will most of the talk from this story, the bigger thing is that Adams suffered his third concussion in 14 months.
#Packers WR Davante Adams indeed has been diagnosed with a concussion, his third in past 14 months.

This is very, very concerning for both Adams’ current and long term well being.
And, despite this being a secondary concern right now, it’s also worth noting that Adams is a free agent this offseason. He’s been expected to get a huge payday as possibly the top wide receiver on the market, but his concussion history could also scare off teams (or at least lessen the amount of money he gets).
Adams — who turns 25 on Christmas Eve –has 76 catches for 885 yards and 10 touchdowns this season. He suffered another concussion in Week 4 on a brutal hit to the head from the Chicago Bears’ Danny Trevathan.
