Early Friday morning, Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce sent out a rather interesting tweet directed at presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. It is nothing new for athletes to share their political opinions on social media, and not out of the ordinary for those athletes to mention politicians directly through the medium of their choosing. But Kelce’s tweet asked Clinton to kill herself. As you may have guessed by now, Kelce blamed the whole thing on being hacked.

The tweet, which was deleted along with the entire account, was captured by one Twitter user, because nothing ever truly escapes the Internet once you publish it no matter how hard you try to cover your tracks.

Kelce’s Instagram account was also taken down along with his Twitter account and he is saying he is working with Twitter to correct this apparent hacking. Maybe he was hacked. He says he has emails proving it, after all. And there is a history with his account being hacked in the past. Just within the last few weeks, Kelce says his Instagram account was hacked and all of his photos were deleted. Maybe he should change his password to something less obvious?

Of course, you are fair to be a bit skeptical of the idea of Kelce’s accounts being hacked. It does seem like a lame excuse we have heard so many times before. Regardless, with the presidential conventions coming up soon enough, we should expect plenty more hot takes from the world of sports, and we will probably hear the hacking excuse if the takes get too hot.
