The Atlanta Falcons will be without safety Damontae Kazee for the rest of Sunday’s game with the Carolina Panthers, and probably longer, after Kazee delivered a savage head to head hit on a sliding Cam Newton.
That will be an ejection and a massive fine coming for Kazee. pic.twitter.com/vEiHrewFwC

#Falcons safety Damontae Kazee with a super late hit on Cam Newton. This was bad and Cam is in the medical tent. Kazee was ejected.pic.twitter.com/NTal8WODrB

Yeah, that’s bad. Very, very bad. If Newton was diving, rather than sliding, maybe Kazee smashing his helmet into Newton’s head would have been unavoidable. But Newton was sliding, giving himself up, and Kazee still launched himself like a cruise missile into the Panthers quarterback.
If the league is serious about player safety and making it a priority, they’ll send a message with a hefty fine and suspension for Kazee.
