Jacksonville has seen their relationship with London grow over years after they’ve hosted a game in the city the past three seasons. The Jaguars decided they’d give their English fans a chance to take part in Draft day, and sent defensive tackle Michael Bennett to London to announce a draft pick. There was only one problem. The Jags traded the pick he was supposed to announce.

The Jaguars pounced at the chance to trade up to draft former UCLA linebacker Myles Jack, who surprisingly fell out the first round after injury concerns. Jacksonville traded the 38th pick and the 146th pick (the one Bennett was in London to announce) to move up two spots. That left Bennett in London without much to do.

Thankfully Bennett’s trip wasn’t for naught. The Jaguars pointed out Bennett was supposed to announce the team’s sixth round pick as well.

Bennett didn’t seem fazed by the change in plans, as he applauded Jaguars general manager David Caldwell about the Jack trade.

It’s a bit of mix up, but Bennett still will announce a pick as fans in London will get a chance to experience draft day live. I think everybody in the organization is OK with the potential confusion given it was caused by acquiring Jack, who’s going to be a heck of a player for the team.
