Veteran wide receiver Jeremy Maclin didn’t have to wait around too long to find a new NFL team after being released by the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Maclin is joining the Baltimore Ravens on a two-year deal and will be in Baltimore to make things official on Tuesday. Whatever he is getting out of the NFL contract will be nice, but he just landed quite the incentive from a local Baltimore establishment as well; free crab cakes for life.

Jimmy’s Famous seafood put the offer out to Maclin for free crab cakes for the duration of his contract should he sign with the Ravens when he was in town visiting last week. That offer was soon ramped up by the restaurant in hopes of luring the free agent wide receiver to Baltimore. Jimmy’s went all in on their offer by increasing the offer to free crab cakes for life.

Now that Maclin is heading to Baltimore, he made sure to let Jimmy’s know he is accepting their lifetime offer.

Now, Jimmy’s has a bit of a problem on their hands. Now that they have put out a lifetime crab cakes offer to a good wide receiver like Maclin, what will they do the next time a top-tier free agent is considering Baltimore? Will the same offer be made available to other members of the Ravens? Will Maclin be able to extend his free crab cakes to friends and family? This could get costly for Jimmy’s. That doesn’t seem to faze CEO John Minadakis.

“How many crab cakes can one person eat?,” Minadakis said. “It’s not going to take us out of business. That’s for sure.”

I guess we’ll find out just how much Maclin loves his crabcakes.
