Jordan Matthews with wife Cheyna and son Josiah.

Philadelphia Eagles’ receiver Jordan Matthews returned to that team Wednesday after some time away, and he dropped an all-time quote in his conversations with local media. Matthews entered the league with the Eagles in 2014 and played there through 2016, but spent last season with the Buffalo Bills; he was placed on injured reserve there, signed with the New England Patriots, got cut by them in August, and then was signed by Philadelphia Wednesday thanks to injuries to their other receivers. And boy, did he have something to say when they asked about his time in Buffalo, as relayed by Zach Berman of the Philadelphia Inquirer/Daily News:

Matthews’ wife is Cheyna Matthews, a forward for the NWSL’s Washington Spirit, and she gave birth to their son Josiah on August 24. She has not commented on Jordan’s comments here so far. But another former Bills’ player, former lineman Chris Hairston (who played in Buffalo from 2011-14 before heading to the Chargers; he’s currently a free agent), seconded Matthews’ comments:

That’s still probably not a slogan Buffalo’s going to use to market itself any time soon, though. But it’s good that it worked out for the Matthews and Hairston families.
