Season ending injuries are crippling teams at the end of the season. Earl Thomas is one of the few defensive players that can change the tenor of a game and his season ending injury was a brutal hit to the Seattle Seahawks morale.

After he was injured, he sent out a couple of tweets that were extremely cryptic and it made many people question whether or not Thomas would be back next year. It seemed like retirement was his next and only move after his dejected tweeting spree.

For fans stationed in the Pacific Northwest, they may have gotten a tiny Christmas miracle.

His timing couldn’t have been any better as the Seahawks needed some good news after losing 34-31 to the Arizona Cardinals. It doesn’t help them at all this year but it makes for a better long-term plan for the team. They can continue to build towards the future without sacrificing the present.

The “Legion of Boom” hasn’t been disbanded just yet, it may still have some legs to it. Thomas has made many people happy with this news, including his own team’s front office.
