In 2016, the New York Jets went 5-11. In 2017, the Jets don’t look to be much better, but Muhammad Wilkerson thinks they’ll at least win a couple more games.

That’s right, the Jets’ 27-year-old defensive end is GUARANTEEING New York will win more than 5 games during the upcoming season.

Now that’s a bold statement for a team seemingly without a quarterback.

It’s sad when a player has to guarantee his team will win more than 5 games, but that’s where New York is today.

The Jets have won five games or fewer in two of the last three seasons: 2014 – 4, 2015 – 10, and 2016 – 5. However, from 2008-2013, New York never won fewer than six games. In fact, from 2008-2013, the Jets won eight or more games five times.

But once again, this upcoming season’s Jets’ squad doesn’t really have a quarterback to rely on, which means five wins may be tough.

Here’s my unofficially official prediction of how New York will fare each week along with a final season prediction:

Week 1 @ Buffalo: Loss

Week 17 @ Oakland: Loss

Week 3 vs. Miami: Loss

Week 4 vs. Jacksonville: Win

Week 5 @ Cleveland: Win

Week 6 vs. New England: Loss

Week 7 @ Miami: Loss

Week 8 vs. Atlanta: Loss

Week 9 vs. Buffalo: Win

Week 10 @ Tampa: Loss

Week 11: BYE

Week 12 vs. Carolina: Loss

Week 13 vs. Kansas City: Loss

Week 14 @ Denver: Loss

Week 15 @ New Orleans: Win

Week 16 vs. Los Angeles (Chargers): Win

Week 17 @ New England: Loss

The final record: 5-11.

Sorry Mo, I don’t think you’re winning Mo than five games this season.
