Roger Goodell gave an interview to BBC Sports, in which he essentially says the league’s handling of domestic violence suspensions is fine. He blames fan ignorance or narrow-mindedness for the perception that he’s not going far enough.

Fuck Roger Goodell.

Here’s the relevant quote:

Roger Goodell is essentially the man behind the curtain, hinting at great unseen machinations of a magnitude far beyond anything we could hope to begin to understand.

Hey, Roger. Here it is, your new strategy for dealing with players who commit domestic violence: don’t let them play.

There you go!

I could write a lot more here, about how Goodell’s hypocrisy is only eclipsed by his incompetence. How he’s not capable of anything close to a coherent disciplinary strategy, despite having appointed himself Grand Wizard of Player Discipline. How he’s come to be defined by empty gestures, lapsed promises, and a greed so large that it may have kickstarted a ratings backlash.

He was the guy gifted a successful hardware store, only to decide that the way forward was to add a liquor license and sell antiques, before he then accidentally started a fire back by the panel saw, running away without telling anyone the entire place was about to burn down.

Roger Goodell is the idiot here, people. Don’t let him get away with calling you the dumb one.

Seriously, fuck that guy.
