Michael Oher is currently an NFL free agent after being released by the Carolina Panthers while dealing with post-concussion syndrome, and more bad news about him was revealed this week. The former 2009 first pick allegedly bit his Uber driver back in April in Nashville.

The incident occurred on April 14th when Nashville resident Girma Berkess called the police at 8:45 pm EST.

“I drove them, he’s drunk. He’s trying to attack me right now,” Berkess told a Metro Nashville dispatcher on April 14 according to The Tennessean.

Berkess said he picked up Oher at his home in Brentwood, Tennessee and was scheduled to drive him to a Nashville comedy club. Instead of an easy ride to a fun night for Oher, the Uber ride was a nightmare for Berkess.

“He’s drunk … he’s trying to attack me now … he’s about to hit me,” Berkess said during his call to the police.

“OK where are you at?” the dispatcher asked.

“I’m (being) attacked right now. He just attacked me!” Berkess screamed.

“OK, where are you?” the dispatcher responded.

“I’m at Wedgewood and Eighth Avenue,” Berkess said. “He bit me… My back.”

“Do you need an ambulance?” the dispatcher asked.

“I need a cop right now,” Berkess said. “I think he’s a Titans player.”

Before the police arrived, Berkess said Oher left the scene with five other people.

“We’ll get them out there to you, OK? If he comes back you call us,” the dispatcher told Berkess before Metro police arrived.

Oher, who is known for being the main subject of the book and movie The Blind Side, was eventually arrested for his role in the attack on Berkess. According to the police, Oher “pushed and kicked the Uber driver over an apparent dispute with the fare.”

A lawsuit was eventually filed this week over claims that the former NFL lineman was drunk when he got in the Uber. It also makes the claim Oher asked Berkess to follow his wife’s car. When Berkess lost the wife’s car, Oher was furious.

“In (Oher’s) rage, he called (the driver) a derogatory homophobic term several times and threatened the (driver) with physical violence,” the suit states. “(Oher) then ordered the (driver) to pull over at a Mapco gas station so (Oher) and his friends could urinate.”

Oher was originally scheduled to appear for a hearing Friday morning, but that was later postponed to October 31st.
