during a game at EverBank Field on September 13, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Sometimes over the course of your daily, cat-free life, it’s easy to forget that there are many people out there who really, really love cats.

Some NFL teams too!

What started Friday as an innocent tweet about Earth Day, quickly devolved into a multi-team war of whose cats are cutest, or something.

We begin in Jacksonville:

Hey Jaguars, that fact sure is fun. Thanks for sharing!

But wait…

Ok Carolina, like obviously a grown panther is bigger than a tiny jaguar. That’s not really the point…

Then things got really real.

Oh snap! How do you come back from that Carolina?

Hmm, they go after your entire existence and you come back with a terrible pun? That’s a little weak.

Secure in victory, the Jaguars made peace, both teams exchanged cute gifs, the Panthers made some more awful puns, and everything seemed to have cooled down.

And then everyone lived happily ever after… NOPE!

Here come the Lions, who could have pulled the King of the Jungle card or just bragged about how generally badass they are but instead went for the self-pity/bad pun combo.

Then there were then some more bad puns that you can seek out yourself if you’re really committed to this cat-fest, but eventually the Jaguars (who, remember, already won this interaction like 10 tweets ago) bowed out.

Meanwhile, the Bengals social media department finally woke up and inserted themselves, when everyone else was getting ready to go home.

Anyway, that’s probably enough cat puns and images for one post… OK fine, one more.
