Every year the winner of the Super Bowl visits the White House. Unfortunately for Chicago Bears fan President Barack Obama, he once again didn’t host the Bears at the White House as Peyton Manning and the Broncos made the trip to Washington D.C.

On Monday, the Super Bowl champion Denver Broncos visited the White House after their Super 50 victory. During the visit, Obama both praised Denver’s tenacity and poked fun at different players’s life choices.

“On and off the field these guys are champs, so apparently John Elway knows what he’s doing,” President Obama said. “I will continue to root for the Bears, but I have to give them credit for what they’ve done. This is a well-deserved celebration.”

Just four key members of the winning team and organization couldn’t be there for the celebration. Owner Pat Bowlen didn’t attend as he’s dealing with Alzheimers. Brock Osweiler and Evan Mathis were busy with their new team workouts in Houston and Arizona respectively. Finally cornerback Aqib Talib couldn’t be there after he was taken to the hospital with a gunshot wound on Sunday.

Regardless, this didn’t stop the President from having some fun with the players in attendance.

One of the players Obama picked on was none other than Von Miller, the Super Bowl MVP. The President made fun of him for being a self-proclaimed “geek” who “prides himself on his collection of eye glasses.”

Even the kicker was up for some teasing.

“(The) heart and soul and the horsepower of the offense,” President Obama joked about the kicker.

Despite announcing his retirement earlier in the offseason, quarterback Peyton Manning was in attendance. As a result, the President jumped on the QB for some of his branding choices. He started off by calling Manning the guy from the commercials.”

“You basically can stack your whole household with stuff this guy is selling,” President Obama said. “I’m so pleased to be able to host Peyton. Anybody who’s been a football fan has watched what has been a Hall of Fame career.”

But the President didn’t finish his points on Peyton on a nice note.

“We were all a little disappointed to see him hang it up this spring.”

Way before he started teasing Manning, Obama started the ceremony by calling an “Omaha” audible that has been made famous by Manning.

The Broncos open up the 2016 season with a Super Bowl 50 rematch on Thursday September 8th at 8:30 pm EST at home against the Carolina Panthers.
