As he prepares for his second season in the NFL, Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Breshad Perriman says he feels lighter than he did a year ago. The reason: Less hair.

Perriman recently told reporters that he has lost four pounds after shaving off his dreadlocks. The University of Central Florida product said he randomly had the urge to cut off his long hair back in July and posted a picture soon after his haircut.

As ESPN points out, Baltimore receivers cutting their hair short has helped out the team in the past. In 2013, Torrey Smith decided to cut his hair and ended up with more than 1,000 receiving yards that season.

Baltimore could use the best version of Breshad Perriman. He missed his entire rookie season with a partially-torn PCL and aggravated the injury during summer workouts. However, Perriman said he is confident that he will be ready for the season opener on Sept. 11 versus the Buffalo Bills.

Perriman has said that his only complaint thus far is that his head gets cold, sometimes. As those who have gone from long hair to short hair can attest, that is pretty normal. But I imagine Perriman will be thankful for the short hairdo when he is sweating during games this season.
