in the NFC Wild Card game at CenturyLink Field on January 7, 2017 in Seattle, Washington.

Tom Brady is always the center of criticism, but he was targeted by an unlikely source on Sunday night.

Seattle Seahawks safety Earl Thomas had a rough weekend, watching his team get knocked out of the playoffs by the Atlanta Falcons. Thomas, who was unable to play after breaking his leg earlier in the year, took to Twitter to air his frustrations against … Tom Brady?

Thomas called out Brady for his easy schedule, saying Brady would have a harder time in Seattle’s division.

It’s understandable Thomas was frustrated after his team was eliminated, but his focus on Brady is pretty puzzling. He didn’t stop after just one Tweet.

One game isn’t exactly the best evidence to support Thomas’ claim that Brady would struggle in the NFC West. For what it’s worth, there’s no statistical merit to Thomas’ statement either.

The NFC West went a combined 13-34-1 in 2016 while the AFC East went a combined 22-26. Thomas is playing in a division which is home to the Arizona Cardinals, a team which failed to live up to expectations, the San Francisco 49ers, a team that won just two games, and of course the LA Rams who are a garbage fire of a franchise. Not exactly your heavy hitters.

Thomas closed down the night with a final Tweet saying that he is just frustrated because he’s so competitive and it’s hard to see rivals win.

Brady will always have his detractors, but the fact the New England Patriots will play in their sixth straight AFC title game should do all of the talking to shut down most critics.
