The Philadelphia Eagles are the only team in the NFC East to never have won a Super Bowl. They will try to break that trend against the New England Patriots dynasty on February 4, and somebody with deep pockets is going all in on the Eagles winning it all.

Yesterday, RJ Bell of Pregame.com reported via Twitter that MGM accepted a massive bet on the Eagles to win the game (not just cover the five-point spread), noting the amount rides into eight-figure territory if it pays out.

Later, Gill Alexander of VSIN also reported via Twitter a representative from MGM confirmed a multi-million dollar bet, although he said the bet was not actually the largest bet ever booked.

Just like when he bet on every game (other than Game 7) of the World Series and took in $14 million, the identity of the insanely lucky bettor has been kept private.

Whoever it is betting this kind of money on a team with a backup quarterback against the greatest dynasty the NFL has seen certainly is braver than I would ever be. Even if you have the cash to spare to throw at a bet like this, that is a mighty gamble.
