The Joey Bosa-San Diego Chargers saga has been going on for months now, and it doesn’t appear to be getting any better, according to a new report.

Jason Cole of Bleacher Report released a video on Thursday that broke down the situation between the Chargers and their first round pick. Cole continued to echo the sentiment that the dispute is bad and causing quite a bit of damage to the relationship between Bosa and San Diego.

“Bosa feels there is irreparable damage that has been done with the relationship between the team and him,” Cole said. “The fact is the Chargers have not called back in nearly two weeks after Bosa’s agents gave the team a proposal. Bosa feels like he has been disrespected in this whole process and forced to take what the Chargers offered.”

Cole adds that Bosa believes the Chargers have made a “calculated” and “unfair” effort to get him to give in to their demands by having players like Antonio Gates come out publicly and say the former Ohio State star needs to show up to camp.

Antonio Gates came out on Monday and had some stark words for the No. 3 overall pick.

“My advice to any player that’s going through any kind of contract situation is that, at one point, you’ve got to be a man and you’ve got to understand that you’ve got to get ready to play,” he said Monday.

From what we know, the issues between the Chargers and Bosa’s agent come down to the signing bonus the former Ohio State defensive end. The dispute has turned ugly in recent weeks and has even cause Bosa’s mother to write on Facebook that she wishes her son requested a trade on draft day.

With preseason games getting underway this weekend, the situation has to be alarming for both sides. Bosa is losing crucial development time and San Diego needs all the defensive help it can get. But based on the silence from both sides, this could drag on for a while.
