I admit I was a little skeptical when I saw that someone had made a Chainsmokers parody song called “Brady Pull Me Closer.”
For one thing, fawning over Tom Brady at this point is like saying your favorite movie is “Avatar.” You can argue about the merits, but it’s a decidedly uncool opinion. For another thing, the song this video is based on, “Closer” has been played enough on the radio that I never really need to hear it again.
But writing for a sports blog means sometimes listening to cheesy parody songs that you expect to hate, so I pressed play, and…
It’s pretty good!
The lyrics don’t sound forced, the words sync up well with the highlights, and the people performing it actually know how to sing.
