denver broncos

When the Saints scored a touchdown with just over a minute left against the Broncos, they seemed to have the game won. All they needed to seal the victory was a simple extra point.

Easier said than done.

What an incredible play. Denver went from the verge of a tough defeat to victorious in seconds. As The Ringer explained, there are few circumstances during which jumping over the line is worth the risk, but this is certainly one of them. Credit to Broncos safety Justin Simmons for making a super-smart, super-athletic play to block the kick. And to Will Parks for scooping the ball and taking it to the house.

The play was reviewed, and there was some video evidence suggesting that Parks stepped out of bounds, but the refs gave the Broncos the score and therefore the win.

Now that’s an ending.
