Thursday night may have been not worth remembering for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, as they lost 43-28 by the Atlanta Falcons on national television. But Bucs wide receiver Mike Evans did his part to provide at least something to smile about.
Evans had a career night and it was this particular highlight that generated the most buzz:
Not only does he make a terrific with one hand, but he takes a hit and manages to hold on to the football. One notable former college teammate of Evans chimed in on an earlier catch on Twitter…
TOO DAMN BIG mikeyyyyyy @MikeEvans13_ https://t.co/am4CDvnwzP

Somewhere in a dimly lit bar Johnny Manziel is watching Mike Evans catch all these TD passes & reminiscing on college. #GloryDays

Of course, Evans has had much more to offer in this game for Tampa Bay on top of this wild highlight. He was essentially the only ray of sunshine for the Bucs offense.
WR Mike Evans has 11 catches for 150 yards, setting a new career-high in receptions.

Evans accounted for two touchdown receptions on his 11 receptions for 150 yards. Fantasy owners who owned Evans and were fortunate to pair him with Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan (344 yards, 4 TDs) sure got off to a great start this weekend.
The night did have a bit of a sour note for Evans. Evans entered the NFL’s concussion protocol after leaving in the fourth quarter. Bucs quarterback Jameis Winston also left in the fourth quarter with a knee injury. The extent of the injuries to each has not been clarified.
