Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was having a solid day at the office Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Near the start of the fourth quarter, he was leading the team in receptions (five) and receiving yards (58) and providing new starting quarterback Nick Foles with a trusty primary option.
Unfortunately for Kelce and the Chiefs, his day ended abruptly when he disagreed with an official’s failure to call pass interference on the defense. His initial disagreement earned him a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty, and he emphasized his displeasure with the entire situation by chucking his towel at the official as well. The second offense garnered not only another 15-yard penalty, but got him ejected from the contest.

Kelce is no stranger to the spotlight. He’s starring in his own reality dating show, and he has a reputation for disagreeing with referee calls in real time.

The officials always get to throw the flags, so I guess Kelce just wanted his own crack at it. Unfortunately for him, it turns out the refs don’t take to kindly to that. And with this being the No Fun League, Kelce’s ejection might cost him more than the waning moments of Sunday’s game—a suspension could be forthcoming as well.
