Though Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has never put on a Cowboys uniform, his signature is likely very valuable to Dallas fans alike.

One fan obviously had this in mind during Sunday’s game between the Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers. Jones was on his way into the tunnel at Levi’s Stadium when he decided to stop and greet some fans. This involved an autograph opportunity involving a fan throwing an actual helmet to Jones presumably for him to sign. However, this person throwing a helmet to the 73-year-old Jones was a bad idea.

Let’s watch it again in Vine form.

In all seriousness, this had to have been a frightening moment for the security team (which is awesomely dressed in shirts with the world “elite” on the back). It’s hard to predict that a helmet would come flying down from the stands.

But looking at the situation as a whole, both sides look pretty dumb. No. 1, dude, why would you think throwing a football from a long distance would be a good idea? No. 2, Jones is not coordinated at all. That was pitiful.

Thankfully, Jones is okay and he has to be happy with the fact his team is 3-1 without starting quarterback Tony Romo.
