Anticipation for today’s showdown between Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. and Washington cornerback Josh Norman has been building ever since Norman signed with Washington this offseason, joining Beckham’s division in the process.

After last season’s debacle that featured a heated back and forth between the two, including Beckham launching himself at Norman’s head, the thought of those two squaring off once again was an intriguing prospect to say the least. Now that they were in the same division, it seemed too good to be true that they would face one another twice each year.

Sunday’s Week 3 game at the Meadowlands would be the first meeting of the two since things got out of hand last December. The on-field fighting has lessened, but Norman clearly has not let go of the ballerina insult he hurled at Beckham following their last match up. Only this time, he is taking things a bit more literally.

It seemed like a body slam was imminent, given their history, but Norman thought better of it and just kept carrying Beckham out of the end zone — only stopping when he saw the line judge was looking his way.

So far, Norman is winning round two. Beckham has just two receptions for 44 yards, but there is still plenty of time for Beckham to bust loose.
