The NHL season has just started and with it hockey fever has already started to spread all over Canada.

What is better than watching a bunch of highly athletic people skate around on a thin sheet of ice with knives attached to the bottom of their feet? Actually playing. But it’s expensive to get all the gear you need to compete on the ice. In order to get everything you need, sometimes you have to get creative.

The cost of hockey equipment makes it an easy target for thieves. So it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone that a store in Montreal was targeted for it’s hockey sticks.

CTV reports that a man came down through the roof of the MonkeySports hockey store in Montreal and stole approximately 500 hockey sticks with the help of an accomplice. The sticks sell for around $300 apiece.

The video clearly shows someone that knew what the hell they were doing. Bringing zip ties and rappelling down through the ceiling aren’t your normal, petty criminals acts. We may be poking fun at the “Canadian-ness” of the robbery but this could easily end up being the plot to the next Ocean’s 11 movie.

It can star only Canadians, of course. We nominate Drake, Seth Rogen, and Jay Baruchel for the leading roles. We’ll call it Hockey Night. Give us the Oscar now.
