The highly anticipated sequel to Goon is coming to the United States on Sept. 1. Goon 2 (which is formally called Goon: Last of the Enforcers) has already been seen by Canadian audiences, but now hockey fans in the U.S. will be able to watch Doug Glatt attempt to reclaim his former glory just in time for the Labor Day weekend in select theaters, On Demand and on Digital HD.

Here’s a quick look at Goon 2 if you haven’t already watched the trailer:

The first film, Goon, was a surprise hit and was widely loved by hockey fans for its extremely accurate and hilarious tribute to the role of the enforcer in hockey. Some of the action and comedy might have been a bit over the top, but the film was a solid view into the world of hockey and it also told an extremely entertaining story.

This time, Glatt is forced to step away from the game after suffering an injury and has to learn to fight his way back with the help of Ross “The Boss” Rhea.

The sequel features all of the original stars from the first film such as Seann William Scott, Liev Schreiber and Alison Pill, while also adding some new faces such as Elisha Cuthbert, T.J. Miller and Wyatt Russell.

Hockey fans will also enjoy cameos by some familiar NHL names such as Michael Del Zotto, Colton Orr and Tyler Seguin.

Goon 2 can be found On Demand and on Digital HD in the United States on Sept. 1 and will be available on DVD on Oct. 3.
