Philadelphia Flyers founder and owner Ed Snider, died last week, leading to a number of tributes and eulogies and of course the sharing of various entertaining Snider anecdotes.

Well, it has been revealed that Snider was ahead of his time in one important category: telling Donald Trump to shut up.

At a celebration of the businessman’s life held at the Wells Fargo Center on Thursday, Drew Katz, son of Snider’s friend Lewis Katz, told a story about Snider kicking Donald Trump out of his suite during a playoff game because the future presidential candidate was being too loud.

Here’s more, via CSN Philadelphia:

The story involved Ed Snider kicking Donald Trump out of his suite because he was talking too much during a hockey playoff game.

“It had nothing to do with his political views. I don’t even think his political views were formed yet,” Katz said. “It had to do with the fact that ‘The Donald’ wouldn’t stop talking to Ed during the game.”

“There’s nothing that comes between Ed Snider and his hockey.”

It seems Snider was considerably more successful at silencing Trump that his political opponents have been in the last nine months.
