The next time you see Tampa Bay Lightning forward J.T. Brown, you might want to keep your phone in your pocket.

After helping lead a brawl between Brown’s Lightning and the Nashville Predators, Brown was sent to the locker room to wait out the remainder of the Predators’ impending win. On his way out, Brown made sure to get a piece of a fan’s phone. As this fan was heckling Brown, the Tampa Bay winger appears to smash the heckler’s phone and make plenty of headlines.

Here’s the blindside hit Brown took from Nashville’s Ryan Ellis — and the impending inter-team fight that started as a result.

As you can see, Ellis was also asked to leave the ice after his hit caused mayhem.

Unfortunately, this video didn’t capture Brown’s exit. But don’t worry, TMZ Sports is here to save the day.

The site that gets every video got this one, too. You can see Brown hit the phone out of the fan’s hand. Along with the video, TMZ also talked to the fan and got a picture of the broken phone.

Here’s what the fan had to say:

We spoke with (Brendan) Johansen who says he’s not mad and isn’t taking any legal action — but says he hopes the Lightning will spring to get him a new phone … because his screen got shattered in the mayhem.

Though Ellis seems to be the one who started it, Brown did not handle his emotions well. It looks like the Tampa Bay PR department has some work to do.
