When Team USA won gold in men’s curling last week in Pyeongchang, it was a fairly common observation that mustachioed curler Matt Hamilton bore somewhat of a resemblance to Parks and Recreation‘s Ron Swanson.
It helps that Hamilton was successful at a winter sport, and the kind of winter sport Ron would have approved of.
Now, Swanson-portrayor Nick Offerman has thrown his hat into the ring to play Hamilton if they ever make a movie about the curling escapades.
Yo @MattJamilton when Hollywood inevitably decides to make a film about the meteoric rise of @usacurl to a frickin Gold Medal I’m offering my humble services to play your part on screen, assuming @Nick_Offerman passes. It would be my honor #HamFam pic.twitter.com/7uXwEtSN2r

Get in line, son. ?? https://t.co/h68VvwkqFX

@IndyMitchG has a great stache, but @Nick_Offerman has the experience. The real test is how well you both do on ice.

Born To Broom! This is also a reminder of how much Parks and Rec is missed. Twitter went ahead and cast at least one other major role, too:
Gotta get @jasonsegel playing @Shoostie2010 pic.twitter.com/gPa7fRA7nz

Which, yeah, sure, that could work. But as always with biopics, it’s not just about finding someone with a resemblance to the real-life counterpart. But, then again, they’re probably not going to be making a curling movie anyway.
Still, Nick Offerman is a treasure, and one we should appreciate more often.
