It’s been the Week of George thanks to the revitalized interest in his ginormous Gor-Tex winter coat. Jokes about Tom Brady’s oversized coat on the sidelines of the AFC Championship Game invoked comparisons to the Gor-Tex coat once worn by George Costanza in an episode of Seinfeld. Now, longtime fans of the show can pay tribute to George’s favorite coat with a pair of Ascics designed in the same style.
Asics has teamed up with a shoe distributor in New Jersey to design the perfect sneaker for Seinfeld fans. Taking a cue from the Gor-Tex coat worn by George, this specially designed sneaker comes with a black leather heel and a burnt orange suede top. For now, all we have is a sneak peek at the shoe, provided by Packer Shoes in New Jersey, but it looks like this could actually be a sweet looking shoe.
Now, if you can manage to grab a pair of these shoes and wear it with a matching coat, you will be the new biggest Seinfeld fan on the block. There is no release date for these shoes as of yet, but you can probably suspect they will go quicker than soup at the Soup Nazi’s going-out-of-business sale.
