An Australian tourism group’s new ad campaign is using a vulgar word in order to market Australia’s Nothern Territory (NT).

NT Official created a new slogan for the NT titled “CU in the NT.” The phrase is a play-on-words for the word my mom put soap in my mouth if I said as a kid. I’ll let you figure out what exactly the ads trying to poke fun at.

At the very least, the ad is eye-popping and grabs your attention instantly.

An NT official spoke with Mashable, saying the campaign aims to promote awareness for the NT.

“We are a fronted by a guerrilla group of people with the aim of promoting travel awareness to the Northern Territory region,” a spokesperson from NT Official said in an emailed statement.

“We want people to recognise that if they want to go to the NT they shouldn’t hesitate. They should just go and tell their friends to ‘CU in the NT!'”

Personally, I wouldn’t want my city or state or country to advertise with the C-word, but Australia is more foul-mouthed than other countries, so perhaps, it’s appropriate. The logo is funny, but whether it’s effective in drawing in tourists is a whole other question. But hey, we’re talking about it, so it’s somewhat effective.
