Bruce Springsteen is a big deal across America, as his shows routinely sell out and break records. Right now however, Katie Ledecky may be an even bigger deal.
Prior to his concert in Washington, D.C. on Thursday at Nationals Park, Springsteen did something many Americans wish they could do right now: He met Ledecky.
Is there anybody alive out there tonight?! Thanks @springsteen! pic.twitter.com/5DzbexuS9x

At this point, does Ledecky carry her medals with her wherever she goes? Unsurprisingly, she had them at the Nationals game when she threw the first pitch. At this point I’d like to imagine she likes to wear them around for fun.
During an interview with Bob Costas while in Rio, Ledecky mentioned her and her father listen to Springsteen together and the whole family loves The Boss.
On her official USA Swimming biography page, Ledecky listed the boss as one of her favorite musicians. The other musicians? The Beatles, Taylor Swift, Train, and Gavin DeGraw.
Once again Ledecky won five medals in Rio, four golds and one silver. Additionally, the 19-year-old broke world records in the 400-meeter and 800-meter freestyle events. In just a couple weeks, Ledecky will join the Stanford swim team, automatically making them favorites to win the Pac 12.
In the mean time, Ledecky will continue to wear her medals wherever she goes and justbe generally awesome.
“Just enjoying a little bit of time off and I’m also busy getting ready for college and figuring out what I need to bring, what I need to pack, and all those good things,” Ledecky said.
Can you imagine being her randomly assigned roommate?
“Hi my name is Katie I spent the summer in Rio winning five medals! What’s your name?”
