Harrison Ford plane incident

In today’s day and age, when a celebrity does something controversial that puts them in the headlines, it’s only a matter of time before TMZ gets video of the incident. Well this week, TMZ published the video of Harrison Ford’s bizarre taxiway landing in Orange Country.

Last week, Ford landed on a taxiway at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California under tough and suspect circumstances. Why is that? Well, during his approach he came pretty darn close to a commercial American Airlines 737 plane. So close in fact that it has prompted an FAA investigation.

That is really close, isn’t it? Ford reportedly misjudged the runway and, as a result, had to turn sharply in order to land on the taxiway, which led to him flying just over the AA 737. The sharp turn was not captured on video, but the close call with the 737 was.

Our own Kevin Trahan has a brother who is a pilot and he was perplexed by how this all occurred.

From ABC News, Ford’s plane was cleared by air traffic control to land on “runway 20L”, but he ended up landing instead on a taxiway that was adjacent to 20L. That’s how the close call came to be. Luckily, nobody was injured, but the incident still warranted an investigation.

Back in 2015, Ford was involved in a crash when he was flying a World War II-era plane and it crashed on a golf course close to Santa Monica.
