Captain Marvel has arrived.

On Tuesday morning, Marvel Studios released the first full trailer for the upcoming Captain Marvel film starring Brie Larson.

The trailer shows the first deep look at the character of Carol Danvers.

Captain Marvel appears to retool the typical origin story, as an already powered Danvers (Brie Larson) returns to earth in the mid-90’s to face a threat from above. Teaming up with a younger Nick Fury and Agent Coulson, Danvers (teamed up with the Kree Starforce) goes up against Skrulls, alien shapeshifters who infiltrate Earth. She doesn’t know who she can trust.

Throughout her return, Danvers struggles with memories of being raised on Earth and the trials of becoming one of the greatest heroes ever. Masterfully mixing in elements of Danvers’ past, her presently in space with the Krees and the upcoming threat, the trailer is sure to get you amped up for what’s going to be an absolute thrill ride of a movie.

Marvel nailed the tone of the first trailer, as it doesn’t beat around the bush. It’s amped up with 90s nostalgia with Danvers arriving on Earth crashing through a Blockbuster video store.

Danvers isn’t afraid to shake down anyone, as she’s seen punching an old woman in the face. Hopefully, she’s a shapeshifting Skrull, otherwise, that’s got to hurt.

Take a look at Danvers leading the Starforce with Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan) and Att-Lass (Algenis Perez Soto) by her side.

The trailer also shows off previous versions of Captain Marvel’s comic book costume, including her full-helmeted mohawk look.

Here are Captain Marvel’s energy powers in full effect.

And here’s the perfect final tease.

Marvel also released the official poster.

For those who watched Avengers: Infinity War and wondered who Fury called with his pager at the end, it’s this complete badass. Captain Marvel is ready to take over and usher in a new phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. From everything revealed in this trailer, Captain Marvel looks like it will be one of the best MCU releases to date. It’s got one hell of a kickass hero in Carol Danvers and is set to tell one epic tale of the Kree-Skrull war.

Captain Marvel stars Larson as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as the shape-shifting Talos and Jude Law as Mar-Vell. Captain Marvel is directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck and is set to be released March 8, 2019.
