Silicon Valley is coming back this April and the folks at Pied Piper have had to undergo changes at the end of last season to keep their company alive.

After struggling to have people install and use Pied Piper’s services, Pied Piper became more of a video chat company after Erlich and Big Head bought Pied Piper to keep it alive. This has caused Richard to be a bit disillusioned seeing what his company has become and that has led to this.

Like all teasers, this doesn’t tell the complete story. Because it would appear that Richard is quitting Pied Piper but obviously that would defeat the purpose of the rest of the series so that’s not happening on a permanent basis.

Richard also seems to slowly become something of a mad genius. Granted, Richard isn’t as mad as Gavin Belson but it may be something to take note if he and Jared keep screaming in Erlich’s garage. Or is it still Jared’s room?

Anyway, season four of Silicon Valley premieres April 23 on HBO.
