We’ve seen the return of Ecto Cooler recently, and soon we will have the return of another early 90s soft drink.

Pepsi announced on Wednesday that Crystal Pepsi will hit stores in the U.S. beginning August 8 (and Canada beginning July 11). The clear soda will be available in 20 oz bottles at the suggested retail price of $1.79.

I was honestly surprised to see that Crystal Pepsi was only on the market in 1992 and 1993, as it felt longer than the ads were. If you’re old enough to remember the early 90s, you likely remember these (super 90s) ads with the Van Halen “Right Now” music playing:

But, the ads weren’t enough, as sales fell badly in 1993, forcing Pepsi to get rid of the product. Until now!

To promote the product this time around (and to remind us of its initial release), Pepsi has a Crystal Pepsi/Oregon Trail mashup game that will be available online July 7, called ‘The Crystal Pepsi Trail’ (easy enough).

No word yet on if Pepsi will also be selling Crystal Pepsi slap bracelets.
