Instagram experienced technical difficulties late last night, which prevented some mobile users from accessing the app on their phones.

The popular photo and video sharing app was inaccessible for both Android and IOS users, as Downdetector.com reported 37 percent of users had news feed issues, 36 percent of users hand issues logging in to the app and 26 percent of users experienced issues with the website as a whole.

Instagram acknowledged the issues in a tweet which was subsequently deleted.

Suggesting to reinstall the app isn’t the best solution. It’s the equivalent of tech support telling you to reset your router, when internet services are clearly down.

The issue has since been resolved for many, but some users are still experiencing crashes on Instagram as of Tuesday morning.

It’s bizarre to see Instagram stay quiet and not issue any word on what the problem is — aside from the now-deleted tweet. Perhaps, they don’t know how to tackle the obstacle. Still, keeping users in the dark when the app is down probably isn’t the best business model. People rely on the app for both social and business interactions, so the longer its down, the more it affects everyone.

Instagram is usually among the most reliable apps, so to see it crash and hear nothing about it is strange, to say the least. Hopefully, it comes back soon so we can all take filtered photos of our dinner once again.
