Declaring one’s love for Kanye West isn’t new, and normally, it’s not that controversial. But yesterday wasn’t a great day for West, and the timing could not have been worse for USC student Sam Deutsch.
Would you vote @KanyeWest for president?https://t.co/R6wEGMYMJH

Right as Deutsch declared his support for the “Yeezy 2020” campaign for President, Kanye tweeted this.

Obviously Jeopardy episodes are not taped live (in fact, they’re taped months in advance), so Deutsch is a victim of bad timing more than anything else, but that didn’t help him, or his idol’s, case.
After the episode aired, Deutsch fired off a tweet to Kanye, but the Twitter mob didn’t seem to care all that much.
@kanyewest you better than this

Here are some of the tweets about Deutsch’s Kanye love from angry Jeopardy viewers:
The guy from USC just talked about liking Kanye. He should be easy to beat…… #jeopardy

Deutsch won his semifinal match and will play in the Championship Finals later this week. At least Deutsch didn’t flub two pathetically easy SEC football questions while going to an SEC school.
If you are so inclined, you can follow Deutsch on Twitter here for inspiration from future President Yeezy.
